About me

Beginning my journalism career in 2017 as a DC freelancer, I’ve always pursued telling important stories on people, the systems that impact them and the cultures that shape them. I now serve as the higher education content manager at the journalism association, Education Writers Association. I was a national higher education reporter focused on race and equity for the nonprofit news outlet, Open Campus. My work has been published in The Washington Post, The Associated Press and other national outlets. I’ve also reported for PublicSource in Pittsburgh and The Capital Gazette in Annapolis, Maryland. I am a graduate of The University of Maryland-College Park with a dual degree in journalism and socio-cultural anthropology.

Reporter covering education, culture and community

I’m a journalist and storyteller covering education, culture and community with work in local and national outlets. I studied journalism and anthropology and focus on stories that reveal how institutions, traditions and policies shape everyday life.
